Allergen selection, method and points for validation study
Example validation plan
Proper validation of cleaning aimed at allergens is becoming increasingly important. Requirements are set by certification schemes such as BRCGS, IFS and FSSC. Retailers also want to know about private label products whether there is a risk of cross-contamination. Some English retailers in particular have extensive Code of Practices for this.
But how is a meaningful and good validation plan set up focused on the relevant allergens? At which points is measured, how often, which methods can be applied and how do you interpret the results? Often the validation study is input for a quantitative risk assessment (VITAL) on which the choice is based whether or not to use precautionary allergen labeling (PAL).
During the training we show how a study can be set up that meets all requirements, without performing unnecessary analyses.
The course is aimed at manufacturers of pre-packaged foods. This course is interesting for quality managers, QA specialists, QC technologists, process technologists, (internal) auditors and risk assessors.
In short, this course is interesting for anyone dealing with cross-contamination of allergens and cleaning.
During this training, the design of a validation plan is discussed on the basis of practical examples. Common pitfalls are explained. An example validation plan is made available.
