Training allergen free-from claims
Training and e-learning
Learn in one afternoon which allergen claims are allowed on the label and how to substantiate these claims.
(Im)Possibilities free-from claims allergens
Overview of allergen legislation and claims worldwide
Validation and verification production
Step-by-step plan substantiating claims
In Europe, the gluten-free claim is regulated by law through Implementing Regulation 828/2014. Other requirements sometimes apply in countries outside Europe.
However, there is no European legislation for the claim to be lactose-free, but there are many national regulations and interpretations. What to do if that claim is going to be used? And what if milk-free, peanut-free or allergen-free should appear on the packaging? Vegan and 100% plant-based are hot, but can also pose allergenic risks.
With claims there is a tension between commerce and legislation. This training provides you with tools to navigate the jungle of national and global requirements. In addition, an informed decision can be made about the introduction of claims and associated precautions in production.
The course is aimed at manufacturers of pre-packaged foods. This course is interesting for quality managers, product developers or marketeers who are (jointly) responsible for the text on the label.
In short, this course is interesting for anyone involved in food safety and allergen 'free-from' claims on the label.
During this course, the requirements for allergen-free claims within and outside Europe are discussed on the basis of label examples. An up-to-date overview of the allergen legislation and required limits of allergen-free claims is made available.
